Opening a parameters file opens the Parameters Dialogue Box to display its
contents and allow editing. This will look like this
 There
is a tab for each of the model equations. On each tab you will see values for
the initial level of the state described by the equation, in this case LHY
mRNA, and the parameters which appear in this equation. These can be edited,
but for now lets just leave then as they are and click "Close".
Every simulation also requires an Environment File to run. Usually the
environment represents the external conditions which the model is exposed to
and which may change over time and affect how the state levels vary. As is the
case for most models of circadian
genetic networks, for this model the environment consists of the light-dark
cycle. Click on the "Environment" tab of the file browser and you will see the
name of the only environment file present at this stage appear in the browser
window. This is also called "Default". Double click on its name to open it.
